Dave Kaplan

SVP, Bravo & Oxygen Research, NBCUniversal

Dave Kaplan oversees research and strategic insights for Bravo and Oxygen Media at NBCUniversal. He manages program and concept testing, series maintenance studies, brand tracking, marketing effectiveness research, and all analytics related to viewers’ changing entertainment and technology profiles. He advises leadership on brand strategies and business growth for both networks.

Previously as Vice President, Bravo and Oxygen Ad Sales Research, Dave worked with the networks’ advertisers on measurement solutions across all touchpoints including on-air, online, social and interactive. He produced new insights across key categories and shared best practices with marketing partners and industry experts. Prior to that, he held the role of SVP of Product Leadership at The Nielsen Company, where he managed the firm’s suite of cross-platform advertising effectiveness products.

In his eight years at Nielsen (originally with IAG Research, which was acquired by Nielsen in 2008), Dave contributed substantially to the development of the company’s core research products that measure the impact of advertising and branded content across TV, web and mobile, and to the understanding and use of program engagement metrics.

Dave holds a BA in Psychology from Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences where he was named a member of Phi Beta Kappa
